自從台灣疫情擴散，升級三級警戒後，許多教育單位都改成在上課，主打停課不停學的教育理念。因此有許多教師都會使用 Google Meet 平台作為教學媒介，但是近日 Google 表示將在 6 月 28 日起針對 Google Meet 的使用者收費，但 Google 同時也表示教育版的用戶不會用到影響，來暸解一下吧。
Google Meet 即將恢復成原有的收費制
Google 自 2020 年 3 月起為因應疫情擴散，開放讓使用者可以免費使用 Google Meet 原有的付費功能，讓全球的企業單位、教育單位、公家機關在疫情的擴散下，不影響原有的運作。但近日 Google 宣布，將在 2021 年 6 月 29 日開始，將恢復 Google Meet 的收費機制，使用免費版的 Google Meet 將會有許多限制。
Google Meet 免費版會受到哪些限制呢？
- 1 對 1 會議時間上限為 24 小時
- 3 人以上的會議時間上限為 1 小時
- 會議參與者人數上限為 100 人
- 會議次數無限次
- 不含有舉手、分組討論室、出席狀況報告等等功能
許多功能都是老師在上課中會受到影響的，像是：3 人以上的會議時間上限為 1 小時、不含有舉手、分組討論室、出席狀況報告等等功能。但是老師們不用擔心，因為 Google Meet 教育版不會受到任何影響，下面一起來看看 Google Meet 教育版。
Google Meet 教育版不會受到任何影響
Google Workspace for Education（原名為 G Suite for Education）是 Google 專為教育單位與教育工作者提供的服務。Google Workspace for Education 的服務包含可共用的 100 TB 雲端硬碟空間、 Google Classroom 與作業、Gmail、Google Meet、Google Chat、Google Keep 與 Google 日曆等等。
Google Workspace for Education 的基礎版本為 Education Fundamentals，教育單位也可以視情況付費升級為 Education Standard、Teaching and Learning Upgrade、Education Plus 另外三種版本。只要是符合資格的並有申請 Google Workspace for Education 的教育單位都可以免費使用 Education Fundamentals。
所以老師如果使用 Google 教育帳號，開起 Google Meet 將不會受到任何影響與限制。因此建議老師們使用 Google 教育帳號來做教學。也不用擔心會有像個人免費版的限制。不過需要與任職的教育單位確認，是否有申請加入 Google Workspace for Education 計畫，任職的教育單位有加入，才可以使用 Google 教育帳號。若原為 G Suite 教育版的用戶會自動轉換成 Education Fundamentals 版本，與原有的服務體驗維持一樣。
另外與各位說明，如果是使用 Google Workspace for Education Fundamentals 或 Google Workspace for Education Plus，每場視訊會議的時間上限為 300 小時，不過這麼長的會議時間相比個人免費版的 60 分鐘來說都是非常夠用的，因此也不需要太過於擔心。
